Hayward, WI - Trophy Muskies

Hayward is world renowned for its great musky fishing on its many different lakes.  Many muskies are caught that are 40" or more, with some reaching more than 50 inches.  Even on days that trophy muskies are difficult to catch, other muskies are usually caught.  For you best chance at catching muskies you should fish the fall or other ideal conditions.

**The Chippewa Flowage is the current source of the world record musky.

Trophy Largemouth & Smallmouth Bass

Smallmouth bass in the Hayward area are often caught in the 17 to 20 inch range (6 - 7 pounds) while largemouth bass often run from 14 to 20 inches.  The great thing about bass fishing is that you can catch several of them a day and they give you a challenging fight every time!  If you're an avid fly fisherman (or woman), you love fly fishing the shallow water for both smallmouth and muskies.  Bass basics...
